I was able to read this book in 2 days. It’s is very easy to read and the author has a nice conversationaly tone.
The best part of this book are the book lists (kid’s books, where you or your child can read together) which will help the child understand math (pg 18), emotions (pg 41) and values (pg 177).
He doesn’t critize specific methods of schooling, but provide information on the different types of schooling and students and have checklists to help the reader determine what is best for their needs.
I didn’t give a 5 star because I felt he could have gone more on bullying at school. He presents what is happening now (at school and on cyberspace) but what can we do as parents and as school officals? He does suggest having family rules set for the child, but that doesn’t solve the bigger picture of why $$$ are misplaced, name calling, etc.
